Research

Questions about peers, teams, and technology.

I combine randomized experiments and natural variation with structural estimation to study how social interactions shape behavior and policy outcomes.

Research interests

  • Peer effects across domains

I study how peers' characteristics, choices, and outcomes shape individual behavior in classrooms, workplaces, and other social environments. My work asks when standard peer means are inadequate and how nonlinear influence changes policy design.

  • Teamwork and team production

I study how teams form, how members divide time between their own tasks and helping others, and how incentives and generative AI change collaboration.

  • Applied microeconomics

More broadly, I work on the economics of education and technology, especially questions where credible exogenous variation can be paired with a transparent behavioral model.

Let’s talk

I am particularly glad to hear from researchers working on peer effects and social networks, team production and social skills, the economics of education, or the labor-market consequences of generative AI.
